Business website launch checklist

Launching a business website is not just pressing Publish. The important work is confirming that customers can understand the offer, use the website on a phone, make contact safely and find the correct business information after the domain goes live.

01

Confirm the business content

Read every public page as a customer. The homepage should identify the business quickly, service pages should explain meaningful differences and the About and contact information should be current.

Remove placeholder text, duplicate sections and claims the business cannot support. Check names, prices, opening hours, service areas and any conditions that affect a customer decision.

  • Clear service, audience and location information
  • Current phone, email, address and operating hours
  • Genuine images and proof used with permission
  • One clear next step on every important page
  • Spelling, link and navigation review
02

Test the customer journey

Use the public website on more than one phone and computer. Follow the navigation, tap phone and email links, complete each form and confirm both the customer message and internal lead record arrive as expected.

Test unsuccessful states too. Required fields should be clear, errors should explain what needs attention and a visitor should never lose a long message because one field was incomplete.

03

Connect the domain carefully

Keep the domain registered in an account controlled by the business. Add only the DNS records required for the website and preserve records used by existing email and verification services.

After connection, check the root and www versions, HTTPS certificate and preferred canonical address. Confirm that old useful addresses redirect where necessary and that business email still works.

04

Review discovery and sharing

Each important page should have a useful title, description and readable URL. Confirm the sitemap includes intended public pages, robots.txt controls do not block them and no draft or private page has been made indexable accidentally.

Send the public link through a messaging service and inspect the title, description and branded image. Sharing services cache previews, so allow for a refresh after changing this information.

05

Check privacy, tracking and ownership

Link the relevant privacy information from the footer and forms. If non-essential advertising or analytics tools are enabled, use the consent approach required for the visitors and regions the business serves.

Record who controls the domain, website account, connected providers and billing. Use individual accounts where available and protect important accounts with strong authentication.

06

Monitor the first weeks

Watch enquiry delivery, broken links, website health and customer feedback after launch. Search services may take time to crawl and reassess pages, so avoid making several unmeasured structural changes immediately.

Schedule a content review after the team has used the website in real conversations. The questions prospects still ask are often the best guide to the next useful improvement.

The AVSBL difference

How AVSBL manages the repeatable launch work

Publishing through AVSBL automatically produces responsive pages with managed hosting, HTTPS, canonical addresses, page metadata, structured information, sitemap and robots.txt controls. Contact forms feed the customer lead inbox, sharing previews are generated from the brand and every customer website receives a managed privacy page.

The dashboard keeps the public address, last publish time, domain connection, visitor insights, enquiries and Website Health together. The owner confirms that the business information, claims and customer journey are correct; AVSBL assembles, publishes and maintains the underlying launch system.
